love and cancer -

-it progresses without any control
-it starts, when you expect it least
-it does not undergo apoptosis
-it can be only killed by smth very harsh for it and for the rest of the organism
-it metastazise to brain, heart...
-it could make you cachectic
-it is immortal
-it brings down your immunity
-it could turn you to suiside
-it could have latent phase

the only difference:
- love could make you happy, cancer could not...

This also looks somewhat like description of hate. Such a comparison would not have the indicated difference. And there would be the same relation to antonym: love --> hate: one step; health --> cancer: one cell (but not in the other direction).
But, of course it would be much more trivial :)
