love and cancer -

-it progresses without any control
-it starts, when you expect it least
-it does not undergo apoptosis
-it can be only killed by smth very harsh for it and for the rest of the organism
-it metastazise to brain, heart...
-it could make you cachectic
-it is immortal
-it brings down your immunity
-it could turn you to suiside
-it could have latent phase

the only difference:
- love could make you happy, cancer could not...

I am not sure I agree with the whole argument. I think love is more like a symbiont which can be beneficial and harmful depending on the circumstances. It proliferates through the organism and creates mutual dependency. When the environment is right (e.g. love is reciprocated), both symbionts benefit and are happy. But of course if love remains unanswered or there is a discord, love can make someone unhappy and sick or suicidal.
